Eight of cups was originally a real horror show of awfulness. SO I redid it. I like this piece fine, although I have certain feeling about the horizon line. I tried the piece without it...and it felt SO lopsided because of the crane's angle. So I'm keeping it and that's that.
I had fun half submerging all those cups.
Eight of cups has found many different interpretations including abandonment and journey. It has a lot to do with realizing that it's time to move on, and doing so.
Nice all around, but I can see what you're talking about with the horizon line. All it is is that the line is much thinner than all of the others. Going over that just a little bit thicker and not necessarily so straight would help it out. All of the lines in this card are very natural and have roughness as well as differing thicknesses throughout. That's all that the horizon line needs to blend in a little more. This card came out very well though. I especially like the ideas behind it.

Thank you for this thoughtful comment. I don't know how I'll find a way to blur it a bit, but what you thought about that stupid line is EXACTLY what I've been thinking about it. I was just hoping for confirmation, which you've supplied! <3 Glad you like where I took the concept!
Yup! Blurring it would make it look more distant, but that actually might not fit in with the rest of the picture. All it needs is some way to look a little more uniform.
